MIA PATSY

MIA PATSY is a brand new shoe and accessory brand which will be launched in October this year. They hired us recently to shoot their new marketing campaign which took place in the most gorgeous space in Metro Arts in Brisbane. We had full access to the fourth floor for the day and shot many different sets of images to showcase MIA PATSY’s new products.

We were lucky enough to have enough natural light from the large windows to get a great feel to the shoot. The images will be launched when the label is but in the mean time we shot a quick teaser video to give you an insight into the new label.

The video was shot with a Canon 7D in natural light.

July has been an incredibly busy month for us here! We have a lot of new photo sets to show you but most are under embargo until their respective catalogues and campaigns are launched. Been on the lookout for the Veve 2010/11 Carnival Collection catalogue and website. Lust Promotions campaign and website. Mia Patsy campaign and behind the scenes video, and The Bullzye 2010/11 Summer Collection.

I personally am hoping next month is a bit quieter as I have a number of personal projects I want to pursue. Some time to relax would be nice too.

Lust; Behind the Scenes Video

This brief bit of footage was taken on a Canon 7D before we got into the still shots for the new marketing campaign for Lust Promotions. It was captured on a Canon 7D with 24-70 lens.

Veve Carnival Launch Video

Whilst shooting the 2010/11 Veve Glamour Swimwear Catalogue on location, we pulled out the 7D to take a bit of video footage. Aussie World on the Sunshine Coast was the location for the carnival inspired theme. The new range will be officially launch on the Gold Coast on the 29th of July.

Introducing YUMIe

Introducing YUMIe (pronounced Yu-Mi-Eh), a new accessory label I will be working for. Be on the lookout for a new website, photo campaigns and videos. Very exciting times!

This footage was shot with my new Canon 7D and 100mm f2.8 macro lens. This 7D will now be set up as a permanent video rig as I have acquired some support rigs for it.

Danielle Drifting

More experimentation with video footage taken with my Canon 5DmkII at the photoshoot with Danielle Bobir.

Frames were dropped out of the video footage then blended together in After Effects to achieve this effect. Since I was exporting still frames out of the video I also dropped them into Lightroom first to batch colour correct the footage.

Moving Models

You may have seen some of this footage before but this is more of an experiment with some different editing techniques in After Effects.

I am now editing video on my PC. It has much more grunt than my mac so I am now working with Premiere and After Effects on the PC. I was becoming annoyed with the long render times on the mac. I have discovered a great proxy editing process for 5DmkII files in Premier which has been working well… and fast! I just wish After Effects was 64 bit so I can take advantage of the large amounts of RAM I have installed.

All of the footage was taken from various photoshoots I have done and if you explore this blog you will find the still photos associated with them. (All shot with the Canon 5DmkII)

This is a little promo piece I had time to develop whilst playing in Adobe After Affects. It features photographs of models I have shot in the recent past.

Bullzye Advert…

This is a demo to showcase to a long term client of mine, Bullzye. It is basically a proof of concept piece as Bullzye in the recent past has expressed an interest to get a promo developed to showcase to customers, prospective clients and sponsors. This would then be available to be played in store on TV/LCD/Plasma etc, via the net and distributed on DVD if required.

Veve in Motion

The following video is one of my first foray’s into motion graphics. With the progression of digital media, the future release of tablet pc’s and “iTouches” and what I expect to be a progression of traditional print media to be made available on these interactive devices, I figure it is a good time to learn.

The footage is all still photos I took in Bali whilst shooting the Veve 09/10 Swimwear catalogue. The motion graphics and logo were all reworked in After Effects. I mean, who is going to want to view a static, still photo as an advertisement on one of these “tablets” when full motion and interactivity will be available? This is only my first attempt and whilst there is a lot to learn, I think I will invest the time to do so.
