This is a little promo piece I had time to develop whilst playing in Adobe After Affects. It features photographs of models I have shot in the recent past.

Well my main camera is still with Canon getting repaired. Been three weeks now and still no word as to what is wrong with it. Was hoping to have it back for a catalogue shoot I have next week but lucky I have my backup. In case you haven’t noticed, I therefore haven’t been shooting all that much lately which has given me a chance to pursue some new skills… particularly in the motion graphics field with After Affects. Here are some screen grabs from a little personal promo piece I have been working on. I should have the final clip up within the next couple of days.
This is a demo to showcase to a long term client of mine, Bullzye. It is basically a proof of concept piece as Bullzye in the recent past has expressed an interest to get a promo developed to showcase to customers, prospective clients and sponsors. This would then be available to be played in store on TV/LCD/Plasma etc, via the net and distributed on DVD if required.

The following video is one of my first foray’s into motion graphics. With the progression of digital media, the future release of tablet pc’s and “iTouches” and what I expect to be a progression of traditional print media to be made available on these interactive devices, I figure it is a good time to learn.
The footage is all still photos I took in Bali whilst shooting the Veve 09/10 Swimwear catalogue. The motion graphics and logo were all reworked in After Effects. I mean, who is going to want to view a static, still photo as an advertisement on one of these “tablets” when full motion and interactivity will be available? This is only my first attempt and whilst there is a lot to learn, I think I will invest the time to do so.
Checkout the latest edition of Tracks magazine (February 2010) to see the double page spread of Amity Evans. I took this photo last year and it has since been published in Zoo, Monkey and now Tracks… popular shoot! :~) I have included the original copy as the colour reproduction wasn’t too good.

This is part one of a two part series taken last week on the Gold Coast. I was working with a great team of talented people to generate a range of new images. We wanted straight lines, structure and a slight industrial edge to the photos. After scouting around for a suitable location we stumbled [...]
