Cherry Blossom Sushi Restaurant

I was commissioned yesterday to shoot photographs of the delicious food served in the Sushi Restaurant – Cherry Blossom. Cherry Blossom is located in Sunshine Plaza on the Sunshine Coast.

This was the fist time I have shot food commercially. I had to set up the shoot within the restaurant whilst it was open for business and I had very limited space to work within. It was practically impossible to control all of the light in the area I had to work, so I made do with what I could. I did not have the opportunity to style the food or choose the plates the sushi was served on but overall I am pretty happy with the results. I did however get to sample a lot of the sushi and it is as delicious as it looks!

Sugar & Spice Catalogue Shoot…

A Room With A View

Model Tegan Woodford features in this short which was shot (on a Canon 5DmkII) during the stills photoshoot at a cheap hotel in Brisbane, Australia.

Well I must say I am pretty proud of this one. Go out and have a look at the Collectors Edition of the November 2009 PLAYBOY USA to see our full page feature of model Tegan Woodford. I shot Tegan on the Gold Coast some months ago and we were just in the right place at the right time to get an amazing sunset! Even more amazing was when I get the call to tell me that PLAYBOY USA wants to use the photos!!!!

I will add more info here in the coming days as it’s a Sunday now and I’m not meant to be working. It is a happy day though!

A Forest Farewell…

This video footage was taken of model Lauren Patten at the end of a quick fashion shoot at Buderim Falls, Queensland, Australia. It was shot with the Canon 5DmkII and edited in Final Cut Pro.

This was shot during a severe dust storm which affected the shoot with bad light. We ended up calling the stills shoot off early so played with a quick short story with some paper boats we had folded. I think we ended going through about 6 of them.

I shot Lauren Patten some weeks ago. We had planned some fashion shots around a rocky headland but due to the severe dust storm and strong winds we experienced that day we moved the shoot location to Buderim Falls. It is in a little valley so provided us with shelter from the wind and dust. However the light was incredibly dull so our work was cut out for us.

Wardrobe was supplied by Rachel Storer who owns Koda Boutique in Kelvin Grove. Thankyou Rachel!

Makeup and hair by the talented Danielle Robinson.

Michelle Bennett was in charge of the styling and also had her work cut out for her as everything was changed last minute.

Matt Leasegang was my assistant.

Windswept on the Rocks

This video footage was taken of model Jessica Tebbit during a photoshoot on a very windy day at Point Cartwright on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. This nook in the rocks was the only place on the whole headland that provided us with a little shelter from the wind for our photoshoot.

The footage was taken with a Canon 5DmkII and 24-70 f2.8 L lens, handheld. Edited in Final Cut Pro.
